About the URKL Competition
The URKL Global Humanoid Robot Free Combat League is a top-level humanoid robot competition open to global universities, enterprises, and research institutions. The event upholds core values of open source, technical collaboration, fair play, and safe nonviolent competition. It focuses on core technologies such as humanoid robot motion control, balance algorithms, perception and decision-making, power systems, and structural protection. Teams are encouraged to boost their robots’ abilities through algorithm innovation, custom-made protective gear, and engineering optimization. This is not only a professional competitive platform, but also a stage for exciting matches and valuable technical exchange.
This season, all competitors will use the EngineAI T800 full-sized humanoid robot. The robot’s technology has matured: high-performance power modules combined with an intelligent control system enable smooth execution of complex moves like combo punches and spinning kicks. It also excels in posture adjustment, dynamic perception, and shock resistance, handling intense matchups with ease.

Competition Structure and Format
The event uses a tiered advancement system with a “qualifying round + group double round robin + double elimination” format. There are four main stages:
[Qualifying Round] All registered teams submit online simulations for competition, with 32 teams advancing to the main event.
[Entry Round] The qualifying teams deploy their robots in-person, and live performance determines which 16 move on.
[Group Stage] The 16 teams are randomly divided into 4 groups for double round robin matches. Losers are eliminated and winners advance, with 8 teams making it to the finals.
[Finals] The top 8 teams enter a double elimination format, facing off over multiple rounds to decide the champion, runner-up, and third place winners.
This season has already gathered 60 top teams, including groups from Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, University of Hong Kong, Stanford University, UC Berkeley, and other well-known institutions from home and abroad—expect plenty of highlights.
